Current Models

Currently offering several specific models, most notably the 765RS,744RS and the latest, the 868XT, with more to follow. All are proprietary tapers as the Patent Pending design of these rods has resulted in improved strength to weight ratios and a most unique rod action. Some of the rods made thus far:

All models can be built with either the S or T configuration. The S is used for most of the standard trout rods and offers a slightly deeper flexing rod action while the T shape offers a slightly improved strength to weight ratio. Please inquire for further specifications or information.

Standard/Options

Builders preference is for flame banded bamboo that is final tempered in an oven. Blued nickel silver hardware over either a cherry or mahogany oil finished reel seat.  Other seasonal woods are optionally available. Reel seat cap is die stamped with SMITH Pentalux logo and each section has the rods serial number cold stamped into it.  Standardized vintage Brown silk and Nylon guide and ferrule wraps with red tipping at the base of handle and male ferrules on all S series rods and yellow for the T series Other options available.
Standard models are without a hook keeper.  Highest quality cork handles - shapes are determined by model with buyers preference standard.  Fine agate stripper guides are also standard with specific color choices optional. X model rods use titanium recoil guides and gold cermet ring titanium stripper guides and are essentially built for saltwater use.   Please inquire for more details.

Price for all current two piece, two tip R models with labeled sock and buffalo hide rod tube stamped with rods corresponding Serial and Model Number $2150.00 US or $1800.00 with black powder coated metal tube with stamped brass cap and hardware. Wood Pentalux style cases are also available with an array of Ultrasuede color choices that can be matched to the rods tipping - please call for further details, options and specific pricing. A $100.00 (fully refundable) minimum deposit is required to place an order. Balance due prior to rods shipment. Custom orders require a 50% deposit.
